Laura Campbell began her musical education at The Peabody Conservatory of Music in Baltimore as a pupil of Julius Levine and performing in inspirational chamber music masterclasses with the likes of Leon Fleisher and the Cleveland Quartet. After further study at the Royal Northern College of Music with Duncan McTier Laura was invited to become a Double Bassist with the Ulster Orchestra. With the orchestra she also took part in its extensive education and outreach programmes.
Laura later moved to London and began a freelance career working with most of the major symphony, opera and ballet orchestras. She has appeared as guest principal with many chamber orchestras including The London Mozart Players, Orchestra of St Johns Smith Square, City of London Sinfonia and the Chamber Orchestra Anglia. Laura has also performed on many major film and television soundtracks.
As a chamber musician Laura has enjoyed an exciting career, playing across a wide variety of styles and genres. She has performed with many ensembles including the Friedman Ensemble which is resident at the Jardins Musicaux Festival in Switzerland and records for Radio Suisse Romande.
